NEADS maintains an active
educational program for people to learn about disabilities and about training,
and for dogs to learn to be good canine citizens.
Education continues to the public both on NEADS’ campus and in
other states. Learn about NEADS through:
Group Tours
Schedule a conducted, private tour for your group or club of our kennel,
hearing dog training apartment, service dog training, totally accessible
living quarters, Early Learning Center and Niles Nursery for Puppies,
and memorial wall, featuring a presentation by a person with his assistance
dog. Learn about what specially trained assistance dogs do to help their
human partners live with independence.
Donation: $6/adult Monday - Saturday

School Tours
Classes and organized groups of children will see our kennel, hearing

understanding of hearing and service dog training and life with a disability.

Speaker's Bureau
NEADS’ graduates, puppy-raising volunteers and their dogs travel
to service organizations, clubs, social groups, corporations and other
gatherings to educate people about assistance dogs and people with disabilities.
Donation: $75/presentation

Instructors Training Program
We offer an extensive, six-week introductory course for students wishing to develop their assistance dog training skills. Included in the student tuition is housing on the 12-acre, scenic NEADS campus with others from other countries also enrolled in the course. You will learn to enrich your training skills and develop the ability to select appropriate assistance dogs.
Tuition fee: $ 4,000 (including housing)

Delta PET PARTNERS Team Training Course
This workshop is designed to teach people how to safely and effectively make visits with their pets to nursing homes, hospitals, schools, treatment centers and other facilities. This course is taught by a Delta licensed evaluator. Following the workshop, each person and pet will be individually evaluated for suitability and certification.
