PLANET DOG FOUNDATION IS NAMED 2008 OFFICIAL OUTFITTER OF NEADS
BY DONATING OVER $25,000 IN DOGWEAR & TOYS

Portland, Maine (March 2008) - Thanks to a generous in-kind donation from the Planet Dog Foundation (PDF) valued at over $25,000, all NEADS’ puppies, dogs-in-training and new graduating Assistance Dogs will be outfitted by Planet Dog. The award-winning and values based designer and developer of dog products, will provide leashes, collars, toys and accessories.

“We are grateful for this donation and thrilled to have all our puppies and Assistance Dogs sporting Planet Dog wear. We are continually impressed with the quality of Planet Dog’s products, coupled with their commitment to ‘Made in the USA’ and their socially-responsible giving practices,” says Sheila O’Brien, Executive Director of NEADS/Dogs for Deaf and Disabled Americans of Princeton, MA.

“They have embraced the important work of assistance dogs like few other companies in the pet industry. They’ve taken the time to learn first-hand about the needs of training programs and their consumers, and through both targeted cash grants and product donations they are making a real impact on our basic services and developing programs,” adds O'Brien.

The Planet Dog Foundation has been supporting NEADS since 2006, providing grants in support of the Puppy Early Learning Center and the development of a new Walker Dog harness; sponsoring and naming a puppy; underwriting a 2007 calendar and providing gift bags for all new Assistance Dog teams.

"We are thrilled to support all of their Assistance Dog teams and equip them with our award-winning and socially responsible products," adds Smith.

The Planet Dog Foundation is Planet Dog’s flagship philanthropic initiative whose mission is to promote and celebrate programs that enable dogs to serve and support their best friends. The Foundation receives a percentage of every Planet Dog purchase which is donated back to non-profit canine service programs such as NEADS nationwide.

“We’re doing what no other pet product company is doing," says Smith. “We offer unique, top-quality products that dogs love, while creating awareness of how much service dogs give back to people in our society," adds Smith.

In 2007, PDF doubled its cash and in-kind donations from the previous year giving more than $200,000 to several worthy organizations.
